Ashley Tappan, a consultant with Insigniam, a leading international management consulting firm, was honored with a LEAD (Leadership Excellence and Dedication) award by the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association at their 2013 Leadership Institute, held November 13 in Boston.
The LEAD award honors HBA chapter volunteers who have made a positive impact upon others through significant contributions, proven leadership and dedication to the HBA mission of furthering the advancement and impact of women in healthcare worldwide.
Tappan led a triathalon team as a part of the “Fit to Lead” pilot program for HBA members in the Philadelphia area, developing a six-month training curriculum while also training herself. She served as the coach and leader of her team, showing how professional leadership and development in a physical training program go hand-in-hand. As a result, the “Fit to Lead” program will be a part of the Greater Philadelphia chapter going forward.
