Waseem Abbas

Waseem Abbas joins Insigniam with more than 10 years of experience working in finance, law and politics. He has a proven background in strategy, financial and market analysis and critical thinking.
Prior to joining Insigniam, Waseem spent three years as an outsourced Chief Financial Officer for charter schools and non-profits where he built annual multi-million-dollar budgets and performed financial analysis to meet key performance indicators and audit compliance. In this role, Waseem also created financial models for clients and consulted them on utilizing the models to make strategic decisions.
Earlier in his career, Waseem worked as the strategic advisor in Tel Aviv for the U.K. Ambassador. During this role, he analyzed policies and briefed U.K. senior leaders and ministers. He also negotiated and facilitated roundtables amongst senior world leaders that resulted in stronger diplomatic ties. One of his most notable accomplishments in this role was partnering with U.K. leaders to recruit investors to take part in building an industrial zone in Shefa- ‘Amr that created thousands of jobs.
Waseem also served as the Chief of Staff for the first Palestinian woman elected to the Knesset in Jerusalem. In this role, he directed a staff and consulted on policies and political tactics. He also created and led a digital transformation initiative to digitize the national election campaign for the political party, which helped save 17% of their budget.
He holds his Master of Business Administration from the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University. He attended law school at the University of Haifa and is a member of the Israeli Bar Association. Waseem is fluent in Arabic and Hebrew.
Waseem is passionate about making an impact and has facilitated critical thinking sessions in 10 countries across five continents for businessmen/women, athletes, activists and politicians. He enjoys playing and watching soccer, running, reading and traveling.
