The Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association (HBA) has chosen two women from Insigniam, an international management consulting firm, to receive honors at its Silver Anniversary “Woman of the Year” event in New York City on May 1.

Ashley Tappan, a consultant based in Philadelphia, Pa., will be honored with a 2014 HBA Luminary Award. This is a new award that recognizes former HBA Rising Stars who have leveraged their HBA honor to advance their careers and achieve new goals while positively impacting the healthcare and life sciences industries. In addition, this award spotlights those who have inspired and mentored others, as well as volunteered in a substantive way with the HBA.

Tappan was designated as an HBA Rising Star in 2011. In 2013, she was honored with the Greater Philadelphia Chapter LEAD Award at the 2013 HBA Leadership Conference for the design and launch of the “Fit to Lead” leadership development program, which had businesswomen complete a triathlon for the first time as a forum for leadership development.

“Ashley’s excellence in transformational leadership makes her an inspiration, both to her clients at Insigniam and to her HBA chapter,” says Shideh Sedgh Bina, founding partner of Insigniam and one of three women to receive “2014 Woman of the Year” honors from the HBA. “She has established herself as a leader in our company — and in the healthcare industry — and we are incredibly proud of her recognition.”

Marie-Caroline Chauvet, an Insigniam partner based in France and senior member of Insigniam’s Design & Innovation team, will be honored as a 2014 Rising Star. Each year, HBA Corporate Partners are invited to designate a Rising Star. The award demonstrates corporate recognition of the outstanding performance and commitment to excellence of the Rising Stars, who contribute on a daily basis to their companies’ successes. The Rising Stars are inspiring leaders, role models to others, and are individually recognized for their vision, dedication and action.

“Marie is a highly effective and remarkable businesswoman,” says Bina. “She has mastered the art of catalyzing transformational leadership and breakthrough performance in any business environment. Her contributions as a leader are evident by the success of her clients in transforming financial management norms and business processes, integrating new global brands and accelerating development cycle times. For her clients and the people at Insigniam, working with Marie is an inspiring and powerful experience.”

HBA board member and Insigniam partner, Bonnie Wingate, says, “The HBA is overjoyed to recognize both Ashley and Marie — not only for their distinguished contribution to transforming the world of healthcare, but also for being two highly capable women who, through their leadership and dedication, allow Insigniam to operate with a high degree of competitive advantage.”

Tappan and Chauvet will be formally recognized, alongside Bina, at the event on May 1.
