Coming to a “Go” or “No Go” Decision Effectively
A household products company wanted to develop and launch a new toilet bowl cleaning system. They needed to quickly make a “go” or “no go” decision on whether to manufacture and market the product. Although they had ideas for the product, it had not yet been designed.
There were several factors that needed consideration, such as timely procurement of materials, costs, technical feasibility, and business viability.
Using Insigniam’s Breakthrough Project methodology, the team came together to address these questions. Rather than using old ways of operating, the team worked from a mindset of collaborative problem solving, mutual respect, direct communication, and bold accountability.
As a result, they worked together to build a strong business case to launch the product. They engaged in an active deliberation process and came to a well-thought “go” decision in the agreed timeframe. The toilet bowl cleaning system was designed and manufactured and is now being marketed and sold in retail stores.
